Bidtruster Case Study

Learn how we designed, developed and released two apps with an extensive backend in less the 5 months.

The Challenge

In the beginning of 2020 we were tasked by Handelsbanken to create a new app for the Real Estate Market. The bank had their sights set on the bidding process, and wished to develop an app to handle the bidding process. Our mission was developing and designing the apps, with a complete backend and several third-party integrations. The goal with the app is to make biddings on real estate completely transparent and trustworthy in Sweden, by using a secure login (BankID) during the bidding process. In order to succeed we needed an app that would  improve the lives of the Real Estate Agents, make the bidding process transparent and secure for all, and most importantly easy and to use by potential buyers.

Bidtruster

Welcome to BidTruster. Our vision is to create a transparent and safe buying process for both seller, buyer and realtor. We do this by gathering all information about the buying process in one place, make it understandable and ensure the bidding is done in a controlled manner by using BankID.

The Solution

We knew that we had about 5 months to design, build and launch on both Google Play and App Store. We put together a team that consisted of a Project Manager, a Product Designer, two Mobile Developers, two Backend Developers and one Cloud Architect. The team was mostly local, with added resources from our partner in Ukraine. It quickly transpired that the end result would be two apps (one for sellers, one for buyers). For this reason, and several other considerations, we decided to build the apps in Flutter as it was best suited for the challenge ahead.

The Result

The apps were designed, built and tested simultaneously, under quite some pressure. With plenty of ideas for new features, several stakeholders involved all the way, our project leader and team successfully managed to get the apps ready for release, on budget, with the necessary functionality and within the deadline. We still had work to do on new features and bug fixes but overall the project was a success, allowing our customer to align with realtors in time for the upcoming and busy market period after summer.

Flutter has again proven to be an effective solution for business critical apps.

A large team, on- and off-shore, working in an agile manner can indeed create wonders.

Or at least an awesome MVP!
