Scandic is the largest hotel operator in the Nordic region with a network of approximately 280 hotels with 58,000 hotel rooms in operation and under development in six countries.

Scandic's mobile app focuses on the customer experience and makes it easy for guests to communicate with Scandic. Using the app, guests can manage their loyalty program as well as check-in, check-out and payment.

About the project

Scandic wanted a guest-focused and user-friendly app, focusing not only on the purely technical aspects but also on the overall customer experience.

With a long-term vision of exploring different possibilities on a mobile phone with Bluetooth, NFC, Mobile Key, Wifi and the like, the customer chose a native strategy in terms of framework selection, a sensible choice for the time. As Scandic is an international hotel chain, the solution was built from the start with scalability, languages, currencies and being able to handle local versions of the app based on regional wishes and requirements in mind.
