About the project

Silver is a full-time designer, and their own website is meticulously designed. Our task was to build it so that the details would hold up during the transition from Figma to the web.

The site is built using Next.js with server-rendered pages and content retrieved from Contentful. We modeled the entire content structure in the CMS: cases, news, staff, service lists, policy documents, and the footer. This means that the agency itself controls where everything is placed, including which case appears first on the homepage and which news stories are highlighted. Silver published its own content on an ongoing basis for over a year after the handover.

Moving images were a prerequisite rather than an add-on. We built a media component that handles video and still images within the same interface, loading the video only when it comes into view and falling back to a still image when the browser disables autoplay. Details such as the scrolling headline text, the custom cursor, and the agency’s display font are built into the code, not as images.

Silver+ runs on the same codebase. The sister site has its own color scheme, its own typography in the headings, and a selection of content that differs from that of the parent agency, but it shares every component. A change to the structure affects both sites.
